Army Reservists in the 98th Division.

The U.S. Army Reserve's 98th Division in Rochester, N.Y., trains soldiers -- both active-duty and reserves. Now part of the 98th is heading to Iraq, where it will train the country's new army.

The United States currently has about 45,000 reserve soldiers and about 95,000 guard soldiers deployed worldwide, many of them trained by drill sergeants or instructors from this division.

Wednesday morning, seven members of a reserve unit left from Rochester, New York to begin their final stage of training before heading off to Iraq. NPR's Michele Norris was on hand when they left their reserve headquarters.
