The Wyoming House of Representatives added 15 million additional dollars to a bill that would fund local cities, towns and counties across the state. 

The amendment by Cody Republican Sam Krone increased the funding from 90 million to 105 million dollars.

“I made it a priority for this budget session because I know how tight finances are for cities, towns and counties. And like I said in the debate today, they really are the boots on the ground for providing services for citizens. We are all affected by how counties, cities and towns manage the money and the infrastructure they provide. So it’s really critical for Wyoming.”

The House also adopted an amendment to change the way funding is distributed to local government. The idea is to send money where it’s most needed. 

County officials favor the change while some city officials would like the issue studied first. The bill will be debated one more time.
