The Mullen Fire continues to burn in Medicine Bow National Forest as upcoming windy conditions threaten to make the situation worse.
The fire now stands at 17,763 acres and only 2 percent containment. Nearly 200 firefighters are fighting the blaze while aircrafts, known as scoopers, are also on-site.
Four large scoopers are taking water from Lake Hattie and dumping it on the fire, while several smaller scoopers are taking water from the Rob Roy Reservoir.
The large scoopers can hold up to 1,500 gallons of water at once.

Fire Information Officer John Peterson said humidity is going to stay low, while temperatures stay high Thursday and Friday.
"But we're going to pick up significantly more pronounced wind," he said. "And those winds are going to blow this fire and move it significantly. There's going to be a more developed column and smoke in the air. The next two days are going to make a big determination of what we need to do in the future."
Peterson said that could potentially mean more evacuations and road closures.
