The 2024 International Pathfinder Camporee, also known as Camporee, is a major gathering held every five years by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Gillette was selected to host the event early last year, which will bring more than 50,000 people for a week in August 2024 and again in 2029. An amphitheater is currently under construction near the Cam-plex that will accommodate attendees.

Hole in the Wall Coffee Company hosts the group, which serves participants from Gillette, Wright, and Moorcroft. Local businesses are also involved with providing prizes, giveaways, and even drinks for those involved.

Tellabration!, an event offered by the National Storytelling Network, is being presented for the first time in Sheridan County on Nov. 19. Eight storytellers from the county and beyond will join those in 40 states and countries in the initiative that promotes and encourages local voices to share their stories through the art of storytelling.

The 2022 Honest Amish National Beard and Moustache Championships and the Booze & Bacon Festival are being held on Nov. 12 at the Ford Wyoming Center. The beard and moustache event began in 2010 and has been hosted in cities throughout the country since then while the Booze & Bacon Festival is a local event that's been held since 2018.

A nationwide promotional sponsored by The Cinema Foundation, a non-profit, aims to increase attendance at theaters across the country. Around 3,000 theaters will show films on approximately 30,000 screens in what is traditionally a slow time at the box office. Tickets are priced at $3 each for one day only, matching the cheapest regular-admission ticket price in 40 years.

The 10th anniversary event has drawn thousands of attendees in years past. This year's attendance is expected to be somewhat smaller than in previous years, though 4,000 to 5,000 are still set to come. The events kick off on Aug. 18 and run through Aug. 21. Actor Robert Taylor, who portrayed Walt Longmire in the TV series, is the only cast member that's set to attend this year.
