Several participants will be going on to a national event this summer in Rancho Mirage, California. This was Jackson Hole Classical Academy's first scholastic chess tournament and the first in Wyoming in five years. They're also holding a chess camp next month for all interested K-12 students.

The Sheridan Chess Association's first annual tournament was held on April 30 and May 1 at Sheridan College, which attracted participants from across the country in addition to four international players and two coaches from Kyrgyzstan.

SCA's first tournament will be held at Sheridan College and will feature competitors of all skill levels from beginners to Grandmasters. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top finishers in two different divisions.
