Wyoming Public Media Is Looking For A Morning Edition Host

Wyoming Public Media is looking for an outstanding Morning Edition host to join our award winning news team. 

The successful candidate will be an enterprising journalist and will be committed to hosting and producing Wyoming news coverage on NPR’s Morning Edition.  This includes writing daily newscasts, reporting spot news stories, producing interviews and two ways, and occasional features.  The M.E. host will also contribute to the national award winning news magazine Open Spaces. 

Other duties include developing and updating web content; assisting with the editing of other reporters; using social media to report and promote content; and assist with other tasks as assigned.   

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor Degree and some experience operating a broadcast board and/or audio editing equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Valid Driver's License with a motor vehicle record that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy Found at: http://www.uwyo.edu/auxserv/fleet/Official-Vehicle-Policy/OVP.pdf

Desired Qualifications

Strong broadcast writing and reporting skills.

NPR quality anchoring and voicing skills.

Ability to produce NPR quality features and spot news.

Ability to operate digital audio broadcast equipment.

Excellent audio editing skills.

Ability to operate a broadcast board.

Excellent interviewing skills.

Web posting experience.

Excellent live broadcast skills.

Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.

Strong attention to detail.
