In the summer of 1945, cowboys were rounding up their cattle in the Bighorn Mountains. They noticed something shining on top of a ridge. They found the wreckage of a B-17 Bomber. Join Sylvia Bruner, Executive Director of the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo, as she tells the story informed by a decade of research of the ten men on board the B-17 Bomber that had taken off two years earlier and never returned. Bring on spring with Dr. Julie Rieder of Science Kids as we take a stroll through pastures and along Big Goose Creek watching and listening for birds as they migrate north to their summer nesting grounds. Learn some beginning birding skills, and build your confidence to tell warblers from finches from chickadees. Spring time is a great time to watch birds, with few leaves on the trees, and birds all dressed up in their stunning breeding plumage. Dress for weather, bring binoculars if you have then. We will have some, too.
Free fun for all ages 2 to 102! Please RSVP at the link.
