SUPPRESSED AND SABOTAGED: THE FIGHT TO VOTE (2024)
With the upcoming American presidential election, democracy as we know it is at stake as politicians are working to suppress the right to vote for everyday citizens. Brave New Films' newest documentary, SUPPRESSED AND SABOTAGED: The Fight to Vote, highlights the swelling wave of efforts to subvert voting laws across the U.S., with the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial race between Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp providing a case study for understanding today's restrictive measures. In 2023 alone, 150 bills were introduced to restrict voter access.

Our 30-minute documentary includes personal stories from Americans in battleground states, each representing those disproportionately affected by voter suppression: the elderly, college-aged students, Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latin, and disabled Americans. SUPPRESSED AND SABOTAGED is a rallying call against the calculated, unconstitutional attacks intended to destroy democracy in the United States. Your vote matters. If it didn't have power, then they wouldn't try to suppress it.

A discussion with the film's director follows the screening.
