September Pops! with the Powder River Symphony
The Powder River Symphony returns to the CAM-PLEX Heritage Theater for their 35th season bringing live classical music to the stage. The season begins with a celebration of music from the movies and musical theater led by artistic director and conductor, Steven Trinkle. Audience favorites from “The Big Country”, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Cats,” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” will highlight the afternoon. Accompanying these will be a set of three lively Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms based on traditional folk melodies, and two popular works by American master Leroy Anderson: “Blue Tango,” a frequently recorded hit first performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and “A Trumpeter’s Lullaby” featuring the PRS trumpet section with conductor Steven Trinkle.
