NEW Crowd is is a collaboration of regional economic development organizations working together to increase access to capital to both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors in the five northeastern counties. A $25,000 grant was awarded earlier this year, which will help different initiatives to crowdfund. A lack of options for access to capital has been a long time issue that many small businesses and other organizations have had to contend with in northeast Wyoming and statewide.

The strike was expected to have cost the U.S. economy around $2 billion per day. The agreement represents 100,000 or the country's approximately 150,000 railroad workers, including those employed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) and Union Pacific (UP), the two major railroads that operate in the state. Several thousand Wyomingites are currently employed in the rail industry.

Absaroka Valley Ammunition will break ground in August and hopes to hire 15-25 employees to start out. They hope with time, their facilities and employee base will grow, eventually creating 45 to 60 jobs in the community. Several firearms companies have relocated to Wyoming in recent years, largely due to the state's gun-friendly laws and culture.

Yellowstone National Park’s northern loop reopens on Saturday, July 2. The park initially said it may not open at all this season due to major destruction to roads and bridges from a historic flood. The park is also dropping its alternating license plate entry system that it put in mid-June. This means that 93 percent of the park will be open to the public.
