P.E.O is an international (USA & Canada) non-profit, philanthropic organization that was founded in 1869 in Iowa for the advancement of women thorough scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of P.E.O.’s Cottey College. Since its founding in 1869, P.E.O.’s philanthropies have provided nearly $415 million in financial assistance to more than 122,000 women, including from Buffalo. Chapter J was formed in Buffalo on October 21, 1920.
