Wyoming Public Media’s Photo Contest Traveling Display will be heading your way this Spring and Summer. There are 14 framed pieces from Wyoming photographers that will be traveling to a town near you!
Cancer: Thriving and Surviving is a free six-week workshop for anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. This class is open to survivors of any type of cancer and their loved ones. Join us and learn tools to take control of your condition and get support from others.
Topics include problem solving, making decisions about treatment and therapies, changes in body image, healthy eating, action planning, dealing with negative emotions and fear of recurrence, and effective communication with family, friends, and healthcare professionals.
Dr. Julie Rieder of Science Kids, an ecologist who adores teaching about all things Aves, will share stories about the fascinating lives of herons while we observe these majestic yet lumbering feathered friends prep their rookery to rear their next generation here in Wyoming. Dress for weather, bring binoculars if you have them. We will have some, too.

The authors of "The Land We Share", Steve Meyer and Christine Cunningham, will take you on a visual journey through the mountains and glacial valleys of their home state, Alaska. Along the way, they will discuss how ethical hunting supports and connects them and many others to the public lands, people, and wildlife of America.

The Lander Pioneer Days Royalty 2024 Contest for Queen, Jr. Queen, and Princess will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Lander Old Timers Rodeo Association (LOTRA) Indoor Arena in Lander. At the same time, the Lander Valley Cattlewomen will sponsor the Little Prince & Princess Contest.
All Lander Pioneer Days Queen, Jr. Queen, and Princess contestants must be a resident of Fremont County, Wyoming. Queen contestants must be between the ages of 18 – 23 as of 1/1/24. Jr. Queen contestants must be between the ages of 13 – 17 as of 1/1/24. Princess contestants must be between the ages of 7 – 12 as of 1/1/24.
Contestant entry form and packets can be downloaded at LOTRA.org or picked up at the Lander Chamber of Commerce. Applications will be accepted by e-mail (prior to April 25) at lotrarodeo@yahoo.com or bring in-person the day of the contest by 5:30 pm, April 25, 2024. Each Thursday evening beginning at 6 PM is an acoustic Jam Session in which all musicians are invited to sing and play together. A wide variety of instruments are often in attendance. Great audience attendance. Friday and Saturday nights are entertainment on stage for dancing and listening pleasure. Mostly Country, Western and Bluegrass music. All ages including children are welcome. No cover charge, great comfort food is available along with your favorite beverage.
