Cheyenne Audubon field trip: Sandhill Cranes
Cheyenne Audubon field trip: Sandhill Cranes
Mar. 30 – Cheyenne Audubon field trip: Evening sandhill crane watching at Table Mountain Wildlife Management Area
Cheyenne Audubon is organizing a free field trip March 30, open to the public, to watch sandhill cranes return to their nighttime roosts at Table Mountain Wildlife Management Area. Participants will leave at 3 p.m. from Lions Park’s parking lot between the Children’s Village and the picnic shelter, expecting to return about 9 p.m.
The management area is about 75 miles north of Cheyenne, near Yoder, Wyoming. Birders and non-birders of all ages are encouraged to join us to learn about the birds we expect to see: cranes and waterfowl.
Participants should bring water, sack dinners and snacks and dress for changing weather.
Please register for the field trip with Grant Frost, 307-343-2024. Let him know if you are interested in carpooling, either as a driver or passenger, so that arrangements can be made in advance.
