Micah Schweizer oversees podcast productions at Wyoming Public Media, including HumaNature and The Modern West, as well as arts and culture programming. You can also catch him spinning music on Wyoming Sounds and hosting broadcasts of the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra.
He started his career at Wisconsin Public Radio, and before moving to Wyoming, Micah worked as an award-winning reporter, producer, and host in Indiana. He has contributed to networks including NPR, CBC Radio Canada, and the BBC World Service. During the 2008 presidential primaries, he was a recurring guest on WNYC’s news show The Takeaway.
Micah’s work at Wyoming Public Media has garnered wide recognition, including a 2016 Best Interview award and multiple Best Station Podcast awards from the Public Media Journalists Association. He has also served as a mentor for dozens of student interns from the University of Wyoming.
Micah received his B.A. in French and German from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Before working in media, he was a public school teacher. He lives in Laramie with his wife and is an active local musician.
