Gov. Mark Gordon said Friday that he's extending three statewide health orders an additional two weeks. Gordon made the announcement after consulting with the State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist.
It means the current orders that closed public spaces, schools, bars, restaurants, hair salons and a prohibition against gatherings of ten people or more will continue until April 17. Establishments that provide services curbside or by delivery can continue to do so.
Gordon said the spread of COVID-19 cases across the state required the move. The governor also urged people to take social distancing seriously and to avoid going out in public. He said that's how they can save lives and protect people's health. Dr. Harrist added that people who are ill should also stay home unless they absolutely need medical attention.
