COVID-19 Cases Force The University Of Wyoming To Pause

University of Wyoming

After five more University of Wyoming students tested positive for COVID-19, the University has paused its fall return plan.

Officials say for five days they will ask students on and off-campus to shelter in place and non-essential employees should stay home. Most campus facilities will be closed. Students in on campus housing may leave if they have a job or off campus responsibilities. Classes will be delivered online.

UW President Ed Seidel says the University wants to get a full assessment of what's happening with the virus on campus and decide whether to return to a phased in fall return plan or go with online classes for the rest of the semester.

Officials add that COVID-19 testing will continue.
