Enter The Wyoming Women's Suffrage Limerick Contest

Help celebrate one hundred and fifty years of women's suffrage in Wyoming-by writing a limerick!
In 1869, the Wyoming Territorial Legislature passed groundbreaking a law granting women the right to vote in all elections and full political equality with men. This happened fifty years before passage of the 19th Amendment gave women across the U.S. voting rights.

While fighting for suffrage was serious business, winning and keeping the right to vote calls for a bit of celebratory silliness. Indulge in some good humor and hone your wordplay to devise a limerick that captures the wit, joy, and humor of Wyoming's historic role in the suffrage story.

To enter, click here and fill out the entry form. Contest begins September 3, 2019, and entries must be submitted by October 6, 2019 at midnight (MT.) Limericks must contain five lines, and you may enter as many times as you wish. Winning limericks will be announced Monday, November 4, 2019. Winning limericks and selected runners-up will be shared on Wyoming Public Radio.
