The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra has extended the contract of its conductor. William Intriligator will remain the orchestra’s Music Director and Conductor through 2022. Intriligator is currently in his eighth season with the orchestra. His current contract was set to expire next year.
CSO board member Greg Dyekman was on the committee that hired the maestro in 2008. “Ever since then,” he says, “the level of enthusiasm and musicality has just continued to get better and better. The programming has remained excellent. He’s become the face of the symphony in Cheyenne, and proudly so.”
Dyekman says Intriligator has built enthusiasm for the orchestra with the musicians and the audience alike. “The musicians just genuinely enjoy playing for him and working with him to prepare the performances. The audience is really engaged with him.”
Dyekman says Intriligator has a knack for programming concerts that simultaneously challenge the musicians and are audience-friendly. Dyekman says even as many symphony orchestras struggle financially, the CSO remains in the black year after year. Intriligator also conducts the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra in Iowa. The CSO’s 62nd concert season begins in the fall.
