Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon said he’s happy with how the state responded to the challenges of COVID-19 in the past two years. Gordon said Wyoming kept schools open, Wyoming health data was updated in a timely fashion and for the most part people did what they needed to do.
“I think we did, ok. Are there things we could do better? We’re in the process of analyzing that and seeing how we could be more efficient and seeing what we could have done that was better,” said Gordon
The governor added that he’s proud his administration joined a handful of states in standing up for people’s liberties.
“There were only seven of us who refused to really put some of the stay at home orders in place, and I think all of us really had a good track record in showing we didn’t need to do that,” he said.
Gordon said he also thought the federal government created a lot of confusion and conflicting messaging, but he added the work on vaccines was the high point. The governor lifted the state’s public health emergency declaration this week.
