Jackson Gets Curative COVID-19 Kiosks To Help With Contact And Surveillance Testing

Jackson like other communities throughout the state are dealing with an increase of COVID-19 cases.

The Teton County Public Health Response Coordinator Rachel Wheeler said most testing has been done at the hospital. But they were worried not everyone could easily get there. So the state Department of Health stepped in and provided two Curative kiosks. They are staffed by Curative providers.

Blue kiosk tents are located in Teton Village and the town of Jackson. Wheeler said it should improve the accuracy of COVID-19 cases.

"These kiosks are [in] places that our residents and workers can go to receive a COVID-19 test. It's a PCR based test," said Wheeler. "And the goal of these kiosks is to double our efforts for numbers of tests completed."

Wheeler said for now they are really focusing on the need for contact tracing and surveillance testing.

"And after a few weeks of having doubled our testing, we are open to working to get other members of the community tested," said Wheeler.

Those contact traced or randomly picked to be part of surveillance will receive an email where they can set up a time for an appointment. The Jackson Health Department has also released a new campaign called Shred the Spread to get people to wear masks and wash their hands.
