Wyoming Football Plays For The Conference Championship

The Wyoming Cowboys will play for their first conference title in 23 years Saturday when the Pokes host San Diego State in the Mountain West Conference Championship football game. Wyoming beat San Diego State two weeks ago 34 to 33. Cowboys head coach Craig Bohlsaid he expects another battle.

“I think what you have here is the classic case of two really good football teams who both have earned a right to play for the championship, it’s kinda like a Rocky movie, you are in the 16th round here. And the last team out there that comes up is gonna hoist that championship trophy.”

Bohl said the Cowboys should have a slight edge by playing at home in cold weather. It’s been awhile since Wyoming has had a chance to win a conference title and Bohl is excited about the opportunity.

“And we got one shot at this deal and that comes down to us as coaches to maneuver this thing around to put ourselves in the best position to win it.”

Kickoff is at 5:45 and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
