U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch will address students and community members during a visit to the University of Wyoming next month.
A Colorado native, Gorsuch was scheduled to visit UW last fall, but his visit was postponed due to COVID-19. Now, the supreme court justice is set to come mid-September.
The talk will take the form of a fireside chat with Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Lynne Boomgaarden and focus on the phrase "Equality for All."
Tickets are free but limited. UW faculty, staff and students can start reserving tickets in mid-August. If tickets remain, the public can reserve them in September.
Gorsuch was the first of three justices President Trump added to the court during his four years in office. At the time, the appointment was controversial. The vacancy had occurred during Obama's last year in office, but Senate Republicans delayed voting on a new appointment until Trump took office the next year.
The event will take place in the Buchanan Center for Performing Arts. Attendees must be 16 or older and show a photo ID to gain entry.
