Casper Wins Bid For Outdoor Writers Association Of America Conference

Outdoor Writers Association of America

The Oil City will host as many as 250 writers and communicators from across the country in 2022 for the Outdoor Writers Association of America's annual conference.

Brook Kaufman with Visit Casper said winning the bid felt extra exciting after a difficult year for the meetings and conventions industry. She said the conference will be good news for local businesses, and will boost efforts in recent years to put Casper on a new kind of map.

"Casper for a long time has flown under the radar as an outdoor destination. And that's something that we've worked really hard the last few years to change. We know we've got outdoor rec in spades," she said.

The conference will take place May 19 through the 23 of 2022.
