Afterschool Alliance Names New Director

Wyoming Afterschool Alliance

The Wyoming Afterschool Alliance has named Sheridan resident Michelle Sullivan as its new director.

The alliance promotes and supports afterschool programming throughout Wyoming and works with the Department of Education to improve existing programs in schools and communities across the state.

Sullivan said the program starts where schools leave off.

"Learning doesn't stop when a child finishes the school day or the school year, and some of the most important experiences that every young person has happens outside the school day," she said.

Sullivan says she hopes to build on the work of her predecessor Linda Barton, who founded the alliance and led it for more than a decade. Sullivan began as director of the Afterschool Alliance earlier this month.

She is also currently a member of the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees.
