New Program Series Takes Flight At National Elk Refuge

A partnership between the National Elk Refuge and the Teton Raptor Center will bring new programming to the refuge starting next month.
“Feathered Fridays” at the refuge’s visitor center will feature live appearances by birds from the Teton Raptor Center, such as hawks, eagles, and owls, and will allow guests to see raptors up close. Lori Iverson with the National Elk Refuge says bringing the two organizations together was a no-brainer.

"The Teton Raptor Center does have open times during the winter when people can go and view the birds there, but this gives them additional exposure and brings live birds into our visitor center. So it’s a win win for everyone," says Iverson.

Many of the raptors featured in “Feathered Fridays” can be found in and around the Jackson Area. The series will take place each Friday from January 8th through March 25th.
