Community News Websites To Launch Across Wyoming

The Lander-Based media company Pitch Engine will take its community news website platform to at least three new Wyoming cities in the next few months.

Cody, Gillette, and Jackson will all get new Pitch Engine backed news sites based on County10.com, which has operated in Fremont County for the last few years.

Pitch Engine’s sites publish a stream of press releases, police reports, community, and local ads.

Pitch Engine’s expansion is being made possible for financial backing from venture capital groups in Austin, Texas and Jackson. But Pitch Engine founder Jason Kintzler says he’s confident the sites will turn a profit.

“We think there is a sweet spot for underserved areas where newspaper consolidation has happened,” he said. “But there is really not a community that can’t leverage real-time content that is part original, part community-created.”

Pitch Engine already operates sites in Lander, Cheyenne, and Casper. Kintzler says the company will be announcing a new community news site outside of Wyoming in the next few weeks.
