Wyoming Public Radio producer T.J. Snook talks with former Jackson residents Anne and Pete Sibley about their new album, Extraordinary Life.

This Saturday, February 28th, Trampled By Turtles will be playing at the Arts and Science auditorium on the University of Wyoming campus. The band has been one of the hottest bluegrass acts in the last decade. Their most recent album, "Wild Animals," was released last July. Mandolin player Erik Berry spoke with Wyoming Public Radio’s Ryan Oberhelman about "Wild Animals" and how the band and its sound has grown over the last decade.

Wyoming Public Radio presents a rare performance and interview with Jonathan Richman ahead of his show at the historic Hynds Building in Cheyenne Tuesday night, June 24.  Grady Kirkpatrick will talk with Mr. Richman about his music spanning from the early 70’s with the band the Modern Lovers through today. On a snowy and cold Thursday morning, the British a cappella vocal ensemble the King's Singer's warmed up the Morning Music studio. The King's Singers are on tour of festive performances across the United States. One of their stops includes a performance in Laramie at the University of Wyoming's Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall

Salt Lake City-based singer-songwriter Kate MacLeod has a new album coming out at the end of the year. At Ken Sanders Rare Books is a live collection of songs written over the past 30 years, all based on books. Wyoming Public Radio’s Micah Schweizer spoke with Kate MacLeod about the new record and her Wyoming-inspired songs.

Labor Day weekend provided a great opportunity for everyone to attend the 5th Annual Snowy Range Music Festival in Laramie.  Highlights of the weekend included the March Fourth Marching Band, and Leftover Salmon with guests musicians Sam Bush and Bill Payne (Little Feat).  Also Travis Tritt, Jalan Crossland, Canned Heat and many more great musicians.  WPR's Paul Montoya was on hand to help MC the event.  Attending enjoyed great music, great food, and lots of sunshine.

The 9th Annual Big Horn Mountain Festival was held July 12, 13, and 14, at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo Wyoming. Wyoming Public Media's Morning Music hosts Grady Kirkpatrick and Paul Montoya traveled to the festival and enjoyed the summer sun and the many bands that played. Here are a few pictures from their weekend at the Big Horn Mountain Festival.

StoryCorps coming to Cheyenne July 12. Reservations are now open

StoryCorps, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to recording, preserving, and sharing the stories of Americans from all backgrounds and beliefs, will record interviews in Cheyenne from Fri. July 12 to Sat. Aug. 3 as part of its cross-country MobileBooth tour.

StoryCorps’ MobileBooth—an Airstream trailer outfitted with a recording studio—will be parked at the Laramie County Library.
