This week, the third annual Grand Teton Winter Music Festival brings together speakers and musicians for four days of music and culture in Jackson.

The winter festival is an expansion of the long-running summer music festival. This festival will feature Chicago’s Fifth House Ensemble, a fluid multi-instrument group.

This year’s festival highlights American contributions to classical music. “One of the reasons that we’re working with this group is because they’re very much championing new music – and new American music.

The Grand Teton Music Festival

The Grand Teton Music Festival has celebrated the awe-inspiring community of Jackson Hole with exhilarating music since 1962. At the core of this celebration is the seven-week classical music Festival held each summer. Prestigious soloists and musicians from renowned orchestras flock to stunning Jackson Hole for the Festival to renew their artistic inspiration and share their talents and passion with the local community. Since 2006 internationally acclaimed Maestro Donald Runnicles has led the Festival as Music Director, and helped the orchestra reach new heights.

Jackson is renowned for its dramatic landscapes and outdoor recreation, but arts organizations would like Jackson to be just as well known for its world-class cultural offerings. For the first time, Dancers’ Workshop and the Grand Teton Music Festival are teaming up to cross-promote each other’s events.

“For our two organizations it just made good sense to work together and to do our part to hopefully raise the profile of the community through what we’re already doing,” explained GTMF executive director Andrew Todd.
