Edward R. Murrow awards

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA)  announced Tuesday the winners of the 2019 national Edward R. Murrow Awards. These awards honor the highest caliber journalism being produced by radio, television and online news organizations around the world. The Mountain West News Bureau's Amanda Peacher won best in feature reporting for her story on a student in Boise experiencing homelessness.

Wyoming Public Radio News has been awarded a 2019 National Edward R. Murrow award in the small market category for Best Use of Sound. It was for Cooper McKim's story, Scientists Race To Research Stonefly Species Threatened By Climate Change.

Three Wyoming Public Media reporters were awarded four Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards honoring outstanding achievement in broadcast and digital journalism.

Wyoming Public Radio won two Edward R. Murrow Regional Awards for reporting. It’s the fourth straight year WPR has been honored and also the fourth time the station has won multiple awards in Region 3, which includes commercial and non-commercial stations in Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. The Radio Television Digital News Association hands out one award for each category.

For the third straight year, Wyoming Public Radio News has been awarded three Edward R. Murrow awards for reporting excellence. WPR won in Region 3 after facing off against public and commercial radio stations from Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona. The awards were announced by the Radio Television Digital News Association or RTDNA.

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has announced that Wyoming Public Radio is the winner of three regional Edward R. Murrow awards. 

The highly coveted awards recognize the best electronic journalism produced by radio, television and online news organizations around the world.

The Wyoming Public Radio News Department was awarded three Regional Edward R. Murrow awards today. WPR competes in region three in the small market category. 

News Director Bob Beck said that everyone is excited about the news. "These are highly sought after awards and are difficult to win. I am extremely proud of our news team for their commitment to excellence. To win three awards in one year is amazing."
