Congratulations to this year’s Wyoming Public Media Photo Contest winners!
We were lucky to receive many beautiful entries from all over Wyoming, and it was difficult to choose the best. The winners were chosen by listeners who voted for their favorite in each category, Wyoming’s Nature, Wyoming's People, and Wyoming’s History. We have posted the top winner in each category below.
1st Place - Wyoming's Nature Category
Kathy Milks - I Wonder If He Even Knows I'm Here
Kathleen (Kathy) Milks is a self-employed massage therapist and also works part time as a massage therapist for UW athletics. A couple of years ago Kathy took her hobby of many years, photography, and created Dynamic Endeavors Photography. She spends most of her free time wandering and exploring our many incredible public lands, capturing those things that catch her eye.

Katrina Roberts - Southwest Wyoming
Katrina currently lives in Evanston, WY. Katrina and her husband enjoy backpacking, kayaking, and riding their horses in various areas of Wyoming and the Uintas. “It is easy to take beautiful pictures when in beautiful places such as Wyoming!”

3rd Place - Wyoming's Nature Category
Tina Toth - Stone Cold Fox
Tina Toth lives in Sheridan, and is a board member with Bighorn Audubon Society. She enjoys traveling all over Wyoming to hike, camp and nature watch. The photo was taken at Thunder Basin National Grassland, which Tina says, despite looking like an arid, lifeless landscape, is actually an amazing place for grassland and sage birds, including grouse and raptors like Golden Eagles, but also mammals such as fox and badger. Tina would like to welcome everyone to Bighorn Audubon's Birding at the Brinton, every 3rd Saturday at 9:00, free and open to the public, at the Brinton Museum in Bighorn.

Stephani Madsen lives in Wheatland. This picture was taken at the Platte County Fair. Harper is loving on Princess Glitter Sparkles. Harper named the pig and showed her in Pee Wee Showmanship.

Angela Shumate - Cowboy taken for a ride
Angela Shumate lives in Casper and just recently retired from being an elementary school librarian. She also spent more than a decade as a journalist. Photography has always been a hobby, mostly neglected, but being retired gives her the time to pursue the joy and fun of capturing a great image. Wyoming is a photographer's dream and she considers herself lucky to live in its wide open spaces!

Peter Arnold – The Splendor of a Sandhill Crane
Peter Arnold has been an avid photographer for 60 years. Besides photography, Peter is interested in fishing, golf and spending time with his family. He is a member of the Audubon Rockies board of directors and the National Audubon Society. Wyoming Public Media used a photo Peter took of a Meadowlark for one of their mugs about 10 years ago. He has lived in Wyoming for almost 50 years. Although he and his family live in Cheyenne, they have a home in Pinedale. Peter Arnold is a retired Wyoming District Judge. He took this photo in Boyd Skinner Park in Pinedale on May 22, 2020. Canon 1DX with a Canon 500mm lens from a blind. Settings: 1/1600, f/5.0, ISO 2000.
