Former State Representative Mary Throne won the Democratic nomination for Governor with over seventy percent of the vote in Tuesday’s primary race.
Throne was the top fundraiser in the Democratic primary, but she doesn’t have the kind of cash the Republican races do.
“I don’t have a cool two or three million sitting around in my piggy bank that I can throw into this race,” said Throne. “But what I do have is energy and commitment, and dedication of people across the state who support our efforts. We will no doubt be outspent, but we will not be outworked.”
Now, Throne faces Republican nominee Mark Gordon.
If Throne wins the general election, she would be Wyoming’s second female governor.
