Spring 2014 Fund Drive

Dear WPM Members and Listeners--

Members matter!  We can’t do it without you!

You will hear this message often during the Spring 2014 Fund Drive.  And it’s true – more than 60% of WPM’s operating funding comes from members like you, businesses large and small, and corporations.  That pledge you made last year is funding a segment of Morning Edition, or Open Spaces, or Classical/Jazz Music..  Every time you listen to anything on any one of our channels, you’re hearing your dollars at work.

During the Spring Fund Drive, we ask you to renew your membership, or to become a new member.  Our goal is to reach and surpass $350,000, and we know we can do it.  After all, this is Wyoming, and Wyomingites love and cherish their public radio.  Imagine living in some of the rugged parts of Wyoming and NOT having a public radio service that keeps you connected to the world!  It’s a sobering thought.

There’s yet another reason to support public radio, and is has to do with quality of programming.  Increasingly media is becoming diluted by personalities, agendas, and the race for ratings.  Quality, integrity, and thoughtful programming is left on the wayside.  In this media environment, public radio and television become more and more important as one of the few media providers where time is taken to explore a topic and tell a full story.  I believe that thoughtful, substantive media is critical to individuals, communities, states, and nation, and that we are all the poorer without it.  I invite you to join me in making sure that public radio is around for all of us to enjoy, and particularly for those of us in Wyoming!

Please make your pledge during the Spring Fund Drive.  If you pledged already, thanks.  Your gift is much appreciated, and will be put to use right here in Wyoming.

Members matter!  That’s YOU!

All the best --
