The Wyoming Department of Health is asking members of the public to share their thoughts about community-based mental health and substance use disorder services.
Marla Smith, the community system unit manager at the Behavioral Health Division of the Department of Health, said the online survey asks questions about access to mental health services in communities for certain populations, like children or older adults.
"Really, what we're looking for is…specific populations that have a treatment need that we're missing that we need to direct our attention to," Smith said.
Smith added that the department will be gathering other data points as well.
"There will be a couple of other data gathering points that will be held with focus groups, key informant surveys, and stake holder interviews," Smith said.
Smith said the needs assessment is a requirement under the Community Mental Health Block Grant and the Substance Use Prevention Block Grant issued by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
