Group Hopes To Bring Attention To Cancer

University of Wyoming Athletics, the American Cancer Society, Wyoming Community Foundation, and Cameco resources kicked off the Cameco Teams for Dreams partnership that is attempting to fight cancer through prevention.

The group also will be helping a handful of cancer patients with a life threatening diagnosis and fulfill one of their desires. The first recipient is Rene’ Clark of Cheyenne who is dealing with stage four colo-rectal cancer. Cameco will be building her a family room in her basement. Clark is a nurse who is used to helping others and she’s been focused on having a positive attitude.

“Every day I wake up and I just try and put a step forward and say it’s going to be a great day. Even during my treatments I look around and say people have it worse than I do.”

The group is also raising money to promote cancer prevention awareness. Wyoming is 49th of 50 states in the rate of colo-rectal screening.
