FE Warren Adds Another Wind Turbine

Cheyenne, WY – A new wind turbine is going start producing power on the F-E Warren Air Force Base this month. When combined with two current turbines, it means the base will get 20 percent of its electricity from wind.
Ken Davis is the Chief of Project Management at F-E Warren. He says the wind farm was the first on an Air Force base in the continental United States and is a symbol for other efforts at F-E Warren. Davis adds, "This is a highly visible sign we are engaging in sustainability and other green initiatives."
Davis says this is all part of a big Air Force effort to reduce energy consumption. The goal is to reduce the amount of energy used per square foot in buildings by 30 percent over the next ten years.
