Equality State Gets First Female Chief Justice

Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Marilyn S. Kite will serve as the state's first female chief justice. The state supreme court justices recently elected the 62-year-old Kite to take over as chief justice once current Chief Justice Barton R. Voigt's term expires July 1. Kite is a native of Laramie and has served on the state's highest court since 2000. She worked in private practice in Jackson before joining the court. Kite is a graduate of UW and the UW law school. She and her husband Roy "Skip" Jacobson, Jr., have one son.
