Composer Returns Home To The Sound Of Wyoming

Tyler Gilmore conducts “A Rambling Stretch” with a 12-piece jazz ensemble at Central Wyoming College.

Over the next week, a piece of music inspired by Wyoming is touring the state. "A Rambling Stretch" is the work of composer Tyler Gilmore. As Wyoming Public Radio’s Micah Schweizer discovered, the piece of music draws together the many strands of Gilmore’s life.

Friday, September 18: Robert A. Peck Art Center, Central Wyoming College, Riverton, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, September 19: WYO Theater, Sheridan, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, September 20: Nelson Auditorium, Northwest College, Powell, 2 p.m.
Monday, September 21: Wheeler Concert Hall, Casper College, Casper, 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, September 22: Torrington High School auditorium, Torrington, 7 p.m.
Wednesday, September 23: Hot Springs County High School auditorium, Thermopolis, 7 p.m.
Thursday, September 24: The Broadway Theater in Rock Springs  at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Friday, September 25: The Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts, UW, Laramie, 6 p.m.
