The Tongue River Valley Community Center occupies the former Tongue River High School and exists to enrich the quality of community life by providing educational, social, recreational, and cultural opportunities that cultivate positive values and good character. Among the many programs, the Center hosts bluegrass jam sessions twice a month. Many musicians go to Dayton for the Jam Sessions. They join in from Dayton, Ranchester, Sheridan, and Buffalo. Anyone is welcome at these Jam sessions. Everyone is encouraged to bring their instruments and enjoy an evening of music, laughter and fun. The Jam sessions occur on the first and second Sundays of each month at 6:30pm. The TRVCC also hosts painting classes given by local artist, Sonja Caywood. Sonja gives participants detailed instructions and helps them create a work of art. TRVCC is an asset to the Community of Dayton, enjoying the variety of folks that contribute to the good work and health of the center.
