Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming is waiving out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 treatment for its members.
"In this time of pandemic, [we're] making it easier for patients as well as providers to get that kind of care. So we've waived things that might serve as barriers to someone getting care," said Wendy Curran, the vice president for care delivery and provider affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming.
The insurance company is doing this by waiving most of what a patient would be required to pay to get tested for the coronavirus. This includes inpatient treatment.
"We also will cover, without cost share, the inpatient treatment, should you be diagnosed in the hospital or end up there," said Curran.
In addition, the insurance company says it is working with providers to make it easier for them to authorize tests and provide care through telemedicine.
