Wyoming Beef Goes Modern

The Wyoming Beef Council is launching an online campaign in an effort to improve beef’s image with the millennial generation.  That’s anyone born between 1980 and the early 2000’s.  The campaign will feature recipes on social media sites popular with millennials.

Executive Director Ann Wittmann says it’s important to keep beef relevant to a demographic that’s 80 million strong.  “The millineal population loves beef.  But they love chicken just as much,” Wittmann says.  “They don’t necessarily know the difference between nutritional values, but they’re interested to learn.  They’re also curious about where their meat comes from.  So we have a positive story to tell because of the farmers and ranchers in Wyoming.”

Wittmann says millennials like knowing the story behind their food.  This month, the Council’s website highlights Shaun and Lacee Sims from Evanston and provides a recipe for their Lazy Enchiladas. Each month, the website will showcase a new Wyoming rancher.
