The University of Wyoming plans to start the spring semester classes on January 21. In-person instruction will begin on January 25, with plans to move completely to online classes after a short spring break in April.UW President Ed Seidel told university trustees that they're going to have students slowly return to Laramie on January 14 so they can begin testing for COVID-19. Seidel added that the university needs to do a better job of enforcing social distance rules to try and prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
"The major spreads as far as we were able to understand it were off-campus activities or social gatherings that we were not controlling as well," Seidel said. "We need to be better at compliance going forward."
Seidel added that UW's rigorous testing program will continue. The UW Trustees will vote on the proposed plan next week.
