Cheyenne Audubon field trip--Buford winter birding hike

Cheyenne Audubon field trip--Buford winter birding hike

Birdwatchers of every skill level are welcome to join Cheyenne Audubon members Jan. 15 for a free winter bird hike in the Buford area. The group will leave at 8 a.m. from the parking lot at Lions Park between the Children’s Village and the picnic shelter. The drive is about 27 miles via I-80. Return to town should be around 1 p.m. although participants can drive back any time. Dress for the weather and some hiking in snow or on snowy trails. Bring water and snacks. Please register by leaving your name and phone number with Grant Frost, 307-343-2024, in case there are changes in plans. The hike will be through open Ponderosa Pine forests looking for winter birds such as crossbills and woodpeckers.
