Alternative rock band Speed the Pilgrim and indie-folk group Not From Here are hitting the StudioWYO stage on October 10th.
Opening the evening is 4-piece group Not From Here, a new indie band headed up by local UWYO jazz student Dougan Smith. A stylistic departure from Dougan’s jazz quartet and the DS Initiative, Not From Here is heavily folk-inspired, with vocal harmonies reminiscent of Shakey Graves and The Head and The Heart.
Headlining this evening’s show is Speed the Pilgrim, an alt-rock band that’s kind of from Casper and kind of from Laramie, too. With their 2018 release of “Old Rollers”, Speed the Pilgrim brings thoughtful lyricism and shimmering guitar riffs that will lift your spirits on any day. The band’s chemistry together is most evident during instrumental moments, when listeners can’t help but bob their heads along with the beat and get completely lost in the swell of the music. Speed the Pilgrim is streaming on all platforms, and you can find them online at speedthepilgrim.bandcamp.com.
