The 2018 Wyoming Bike Walk Trails Summit convened Monday to help build momentum for the improvement of bicycling and pedestrian trail systems across the state. The event featuring speakers from varying communities around Wyoming was held at Snow King Resort in Jackson.
This year’s summit included a presentation of the State Legislature’s recent Bicycle and Pedestrian System Report. Tim Young, the executive director of Wyoming Pathways said he was excited for the diversity of the speakers and topics, as well as the rich agenda of the event. In response to the State Legislature’s report, Young said, “That was a remarkable document that contained a number of recommendations in it and we’re really looking for conversations and discussions on how to best move forward with some of those recommendations.”
Also, in recognition of the summit he said, “We’re focusing on a combination of the health benefits, the quality of life benefits, and the economic benefits that result from great main streets and quality trails that communities have.”
