Incumbent Sen. Barrasso wins re-election

U.S. Republican Senator John Barrasso has been re-elected.

The conservative Junior Senator from Wyoming says there needs to be more bi-partisan cooperation during the next Congress.

“I think that people that have gotten elected tonight have a responsibility to the country to make sure we focus on this incredible debt and focus on getting people back to work. So I’m committed to that.”

Barrasso has supported a bill called “No Budget, No Pay” that would withhold Senate paychecks until they approve a federal budget. He adds that Congress also needs to make paying doctors for Medicare services a priority.

Democrat Tim Chesnut and County Party Candidate Joel Otto challenged the incumbent Senator Barrasso, who won 76-percent of the vote.
