CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Alvin Wiederspahn, a former Wyoming state legislator and the husband of U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis, has died at age 65.

Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes funeral director Amy Peterson confirmed Wiederspahn's death and says arrangements are being handled by the funeral home his parents started.

She says she does not know how Wiederspahn died.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle first reported Wiederspahn's death. Cheyenne police spokesman Dan Long told the newspaper that Wiederspahn was found dead Friday afternoon and that no foul play is suspected.

Wiederspahn was a Democratic state legislator for 10 years. He was a lawyer, a rancher and a historic preservationist who led the renovation of the historic Plains Hotel in downtown Cheyenne.

A call and email to Lummis' spokesman was not immediately returned.
