Casper Police Shoot And Kill Man

Casper Police Department

Tuesday morning, Casper police shot and killed a man after he led police on a high-speed chase and threatened multiple people with a gun. This is the third shooting involving Casper police officers this year.

According to a press release from the Casper Police Department, its dispatch received multiple 911 calls about a man pointing a gun at several people.

By the time officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled. But officers soon caught up to his vehicle, which led to a high-speed chase. When the suspect started to approach downtown, officers stopped pursuing him.

Shortly after, they tracked the suspect down at a convenience store where the shooting took place. According to the press release, as soon as the officer arrived at the Loaf ‘N Jug he, “contacted the male suspect who was armed with a firearm and an officer-involved shooting ensued.”

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured in the incident. The investigation has been turned over to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigations.
